GeoNetwork opensource is a Free and Open Source catalog application to manage spatially referenced resources. It provides powerfull metadata editing and search functions as well as an embedded interactive web map viewer.

The Conservation Geoportal is a collaborative effort by and for the conservation community to facilitate the discovery and publishing of geographic information systems (GIS) data and maps, to support conservation decision-making and education. It is primarily a data catalogue, intended to provide a comprehensive listing of GIS data sets and map services relevant to biodiversity conservation. The Conservation Geoportal does not actually store maps and data, but rather the descriptions and links to those resources, known as "metadata."

FAO Country Profiles and Mapping Information System is a pioneering information retrieval tool which groups the organization's vast archive of information on its global activities in agriculture and development in a single area and catalogues it exclusively by country.

UNOSAT provides the humanitarian and development communities with updated and accurate geographic information and access to satellite imagery. The purpose of UNOSAT is then to encourage, facilitate, accelerate and expand the use of accurate geographic information derived from EO-satellite imagery by professionals involved in achieving vulnerability reduction, crisis management and recovery as well as sustainable development at the local level.

The Integrated CEOS European Data Server (ICEDS) uses Open Geospatial Consortium technologies for map and data serving; serve datasets for Europe and Africa, particularly Landsat TM and Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) digital elevation model (DEM) data; and others.

Blue Marble: Next Genetation - In celebration of the deployment of its Earth Observing System, NASA is pleased to share the newest in its series of stunning Earth images, affectionately named the “Blue Marble.” This new Earth imagery enhances the Blue Marble legacy by providing a detailed look at an entire year in the life of our planet. In sharing these Blue Marble images, NASA hopes the public will join with the agency in its continuing exploration of our world from the unique perspective of space.

The Earth Science Data Interface (ESDI) at the Global Land Cover Facility (University of Maryland-US) provides free access to STRM data, and as a bonus you can download landsat images already aligned to STRM tiles.

The Global Land Cover Facility (GLCF) provides earth science data and products to help everyone to better understand global environmental systems. In particular, the GLCF develops and distributes remotely sensed satellite data and products that explain land cover from the local to global scales.

ResMap provides free online access to GIS-ready satellite data. Imagery covering the entire globe is accessible, with resolutions ranging from 1 km to 14.25 metres for most areas, and in some selected regions 1 metre imagery is available. Over 10 Terabytes of LANDSAT imagery is available for direct and free use in GIS/ CAD/ RS/ MS Office applications on your desktop without the need to download the data.

TerraServer-USA is a free online repository of public domain aerial imagery and satellite imagery, formerly known as Microsoft TerraServer. At present, the site claims to have black and white aerial photographs of approximately 97% of the United States. In 2000, the USGS launched the new Urban Areas program, which will ultimately take high-resolution color aerial photographs of about 100 major American cities. TerraServer has added Urban Areas data for 40 cities. (source: Wikipedia)
